1. Can you describe how you are teaching
SKHM at the present time?
SKHM, at the present time, is being taught in a group environment.
Although it works very well one on one, the more people we seem
to get in the group, the higher the energy level seems to become.
We have noticed significant shifts in classes which have above
30 people. So our goal right now is to gather more and more
people together who are connected to this energy. As we come
together as a group, we will then bring in more energy and even
new energy which we have never experienced before. A lot of
classes get focussed around one person, such as gurus or very
charismatic teachers, and what they tend to do is to say that
the energy is coming through them into the group. What we have
been focussing is having a more unified group, where yes you
do need to have a leader, or person being a focus point, but
it is really the group bringing the energy in. And this is what
is happening in our SKHM or our All-Love groups. As more and
more of us are coming together, meeting and meditating, it starts
to ignite and bring in more initiations. That has really been
the focus now, on the group, and the most important aspect is
love; the love aspect and opening the heart rather than focussing
on the techniques and so forth. We have been beginning to have
initiations happening spontaneously, hardly using any of the
techniques at all. It’s a very exciting time. There have
been some large groups in different countries and we are really
seeing things grow exponentially now. Top
2. Has the energy or your way of teaching
it changed very much since you first experienced it in the Great
Pyramid?
It has changed quite a bit. The original experience in the
pyramid doesn’t even come close to hat we are experiencing
now in the classes. Although all of those experiences were stepping
stones.
People say that they want to go to the pyramid and have an
experience like Patrick had. And some people do have experiences
when they go the pyramid. But what I have found is that the
experiences that people are having in the class are far greater
than I ever experienced in the pyramid. So people don’t
really have to go there any more. The people in the group are
now the ones creating these energy fields and bringing in the
energy. The pyramid experience was an incredible initiation,
an incredible start but it has grown since then. The energy
has changed and the way that we are working with it has changed.
When I went to the pyramid I was alone, there was no group energy.
And that was how I originally taught, in very small groups,
often one on one, more personal healing. Then it began to shift
back in 1995. It began to grow and change and develop. The experience
in the pyramid occurred in 1980, but for me, it has been a slow
process of growth. At that time I had very little teaching experience,
so over time I was able to gain that experience, attending some
very nice classes. I also let the energy teach me. Because of
course, the experience in the pyramid didn’t come with
a manual. Top
3. Can you give a broader explanation
about Seichim and SKHM?
It’s really related to the different spelling. I was
involved with a lady who did some very wonderful channelling
of a being called Marat. When I asked Marat for a name for the
energy that I was using, what originally came through was Setim.
Although I didn’t know it at the time, this apparently
is the name of an ancient Egyptian priest who specialised in
bringing people through the whole death process. And they were
considered to be the highest form of priests. But I wasn’t
completely comfortable with that name and ended up asking myself
and I got the name SKHM without having any idea that SKHM was
connected with the Egyptian name for energy, or power of powers.
It just came through as a word, it didn’t come with a
spelling, so I did my best to spell it. So this is where a lot
of the confusion comes, because different people have spelt
it in different ways. There is Seichim, Seichem, Sekhem and
I use the SKHM because that is the way the Egyptians would have
spelt it. The Egyptians had a phonetic alphabet, but they used
hieroglyphics with the phonetics. But they had no vowels and
so that is how it would have been spelt in ancient Egypt. Seichim
is also very much related to the earlier version of SKHM. Seichim
was very much based on a Reiki type model. I was working with
the SKHM energy before I took Reiki courses, but I didn’t
have a manual or way. So, I began to use some of the techniques
that Reiki uses because those are very good and very powerful
techniques that do work. But I found that after working with
the SKHM energy for about a year, I noticed a shift and the
energy really seemed to want to do something different and not
be plugged into the Reiki mould so much. And that is where we
are today. Many of the people who began to work with the energy
that I taught early on, based on symbols and the Reiki model,
really liked that system. They began to add it to Reiki. So
Seichim began to be known as an extended Reiki or a higher vibration
of Reiki, even though I never labelled it as that. So I got
away from using the spelling Seichim otherwise it would just
have been confusing for people. Top
4. When you talk about “ALL LOVE”
is it the same as saying “God” or “Original
Source”?
If you say that God is love, then yes. It’s also just
the feeling of being in that space of all love. And that is
one of the things that we do experience in our initiation process.
Many people have different labels as to what God is, so the
term God may be different for everyone. Just as the words all
love might be different for everyone. It is really the experience
that you have that is important.
We do use the word Source because it is the Source of all.
It depends on what everyone’s definition of what God is,
what love is and what Original Source is. It is best just to
experience it in class. Top
5. I heard that you sometimes explain
Seichim or SKHM as a process of self-discovery; would you say
that SKHM is also a system of healing or is it both things?
Any form of self discovery is going to be healing. The whole
process began by me working on myself. After the experience
in the great pyramid I went to Nepal. I found that if I wasn’t
feeling well then I would just lay my hands on my body and my
whole body would begin to shake and vibrate which I must admit
I found a little scary. In Nepal, they say that you must have
a spiritual teacher, and I didn’t have one. When I laid
my hands on my body it would sometimes be very profound, as
if I was hooked up to an electric current. I was living in the
countryside but came into the capital of Nepal to relax and
get my mail. In the hotel that I was staying, there was someone
teaching a massage class and they needed a body to work on.
I volunteered and that was how I was introduced to massage therapy.
After they worked on me, I began to work on other people and
they were amazed at how good it felt when I put my hands on
them. That was when I found that the energy was something that
I could transfer to someone else. That was the first occasion
that I really had put my hands on people. I began to see how
this worked and that was when I decided to go into the healing
arts. Because of that experience I went to study in New Mexico
and California after Nepal. And it was when I was in Santa Fe
that I met a Robert March who really encouraged me. He had a
clinic there, but instead of doing massage I ended up just doing
energy work. Top
6. So many people who are Reiki practitioners
come to classes with high expectations about initiations or
other spiritual experiences during the workshops, hoping to
grow spiritually. Can you explain what a person should expect
in a 2 day SKHM workshop?
Expectation is really the word there. A lot of times, people
come in with a lot of expectations and often, the comments that
I get is that what they have experienced goes beyond their expectations.
But it is probably best not to put any expectations on the class
because the expectation often can limit the experience. I would
suggest that before a workshop you just let go of expectations
and you will probably get a lot more out of the class. A lot
of Reiki people do come into the class thinking that it is going
to be a type of Reiki initiation and when things don’t
occur exactly as they had expected then they don’t get
as much out of the class because of those expectations. The
people that let go and don’t have expectations usually
go further than they have ever gone before. Top
7. How is SKHM different from Usui
Reiki or other Reiki systems, and also what are the similarities?
Reiki came from Usui´s enlightened experience. To start
with there were probably no symbols or formal techniques, it
was all very spontaneous. That is very much where we are with
SKHM today. SKHM is also based on an energy experience so there
is a similarity there. Where things begin to differ is the way
that it is taught. Reiki seems to have evolved to where the
practitioners see themselves as a channel, channelling the energy
through them to other people. They become the link, the empowerer.
The way that we teach SKHM is that we all are this empowerer.
We see them as making a direct connection to the Source rather
then bringing the energy through us, so we empower people right
from the beginning. That is probably the main difference that
we have just now. I do see a lot of people working with Reiki
adopting this template now and they feel that they are having
much more powerful experiences. Top
8. Can you say a little bit about all
the people who were involved in both the creating and evolving
of Sekhem-Seichim Reiki and SKHM?
Many people have been involved and contributed to the system
and we want to honour everyone who has made a contribution to
help build and support the system. It is a group energy so everyone
adds something. When you take a class you experience something
very unique. You may even think, ´Wow, I have connected
with a system that has never been on this planet before.´
You may then want to begin to teach that unique system that
you experienced in the class. I know that Diane Shewmaker came
to one of my classes and had a very profound experience. She
then began to teach that. This has been very common in our classes,
not just with Diane but with many other people as well. People
set up their own unique system after taking the class. People
may see their spirit guide in a clear way that they have never
experienced before. Or they may merge with that guide. This
is one of the more powerful aspects of the class. That it really
empowers the people to trust their energy and their own experience.
Top
9. Could you explain how you feel about
Reiki symbols or other symbols in the process of healing and
self discovery?
I think that symbols are like a key. For example, when you
want to remember a dream, you remember one thing and by remembering
that one aspect you can remember the whole dream. The symbols
work in the same way. You have an experience and then you are
given a symbol and that helps you connect back to that experience.
Sometimes people don’t necessarily have an experience
with Reiki but they are just given the symbol. It is much more
powerful if you experience a full initiation and are then given
a symbol as it can help you reconnect to the experience. That
is what is important with this. In some way symbols have got
things a little backwards, they give you the symbol and then
you work with the symbol to try to get an experience. What we
have in the SKHM class is that normally you will have an experience
and then the symbol just comes. It is not something given to
you by another person. We do use meditation that includes symbology;
however each person is allowed to experience that in their own
way. The symbol just helps us to remember. Essentially we have
everything inside of us and it is just a matter of remembering
it. Top
10. Can you explain your own evolution
since you started with Reiki and other meditation techniques
up to the present day?
For me it was a path of personal growth on the way to enlightenment,
and Reiki was part of that process. I had already been doing
other meditation techniques such as kundalini yoga with Yogi
Bajan, and I also did a 10 day vipassana meditation course with
Golinka which was very powerful. Those were each a more personal
type of system. After a couple of years of working with the
SKHM energy it moved more towards being a group experience.
I began to see how together we can really start to build, to
grow and to move towards these enlightened states as we help
each other. Enlightenment isn’t just about one person,
it’s about the whole of humanity. Top
11. Can you tell me about the present
structure within SKHM, is it the same as Reiki with Master/Teacher
or is it different?
In SKHM there is less emphasis on the teacher. With Reiki they
have focussed on the Master and the lineage. We really don’t
work with lineage much. I think it is important to study with
a good teacher and to know where that teacher has come from.
But the most important link is between you and Source. Once
you make that connection to Source you don’t really need
to have any lineage. We don’t use the term Master but
just teachers and facilitators. Someone has to organise and
get the group going in the right direction. But we are just
trying to support the whole group process. Top
12. Would you explain the structure
for learning SKHM, for example how many workshops and what other
experiences you need to become a teacher?
The key word is experience. I do feel it is important to experience
the initiations. Everyone’s initiation experience is going
to be unique. I do recommend about 3 classes before you become
a facilitator. By then you should have had an initiation and
have the experience to be able to help and support someone through
the process.
To become a teacher, you should have:
• attended a further 2 workshops possibly organising or
co-teaching one
• observed 8 individual sessions,
• received 8 individual sessions with a teacher
• been supervised by a teacher whilst giving 8 individual
sessions
• You should be able to guide the Shenu meditation and
the Infinity Dance and facilitate healing sessions in a group.
Another important thing is to set up and teach. Many people
come who want to be a teacher. Yet once they fulfil the requirements
to become a teacher they don’t actually go out and teach.
Once you begin to teach, the energy will then become your teacher.
One of the things that we would like to set up is an online
group on the computer so that we can work with people anywhere
in the world. This would allow people to witness and experience
sessions in a group at a distance. Top
13. Patrick, do you think the system
will help change or instil beliefs like reincarnation and will
it help to heal traumas that come from the past?
People have past life experiences in the class. But we need
to realise that dealing with these issues in the present moment
is more important. A lot of people like to focus on past lives,
but the important thing is to stay in the present feeling. You
can use any type of drama to bring that up. Someone may have
a sexual issue. Sexual issues are often very powerful and personal.
Some people may feel more comfortable dealing with it in a past
life rather than dealing with the trauma that may have happened
in this life. So it may be experienced and dealt with as a past
life experience. Top
14. Is there any kind of initiations
or meditations during the classes, can you explain a little
bit about them?
The initiations are spontaneous and are unique for each person;
people might experience visions of oneness or feelings of profound
love. We do the meditations in the class to help us support
that. It’s a different philosophy from the Reiki initiations.
I see Reiki as an attunement and I differentiate between an
initiation and an attunement. An initiation is what happens
when you really get into that cosmic consciousness and interact
with people from that space. During a Reiki attunement, people
may occasionally have that experience. An initiation isn’t
something that can be given to you. It is something that you
open up to and experience. And this is what is important for
people to realise. It’s not something that I can give
to anyone. But many people do have initiations during the class.
Top
15. Many practitioners like to mix
systems of healing, for example SKHM and Reiki or add some other
kind of energy healing? What do you think about this?
I don’t have a problem with that in general. If you have
a recipe that you know works then stick with it. The problem
that I do have is that many times people come into the class
and they can be so focussed on doing other things that they
don’t get everything they could out of the class. A good
example is that during the support sessions in the class, I
notice that some people will be doing some sort of shiatsu practice,
trying to force the energy to move in some way, or they might
be drawing symbols, or tempted to pull out a crystal. We want
things to be very simple and when you start mixing things, then
it can make things complicated. Once the person leaves the weekend
class, they can do whatever they want because then they are
not affecting other people in the class. The problem is that
many times people have things that they really love, ways of
connecting to the energy, and they bring this into the class
and try to get everyone to experience what they are bringing
instead of experiencing the energy of the SKHM class. I do know
that some other teachers want you to focus just on their systems.
I feel sometimes that this can be a little controlling. I feel
that one of the reasons that SKHM has grown is because of its
openness. Often after a SKHM class the way that you work with
energy, including Reiki, changes in any case. Top
16. Do you view SKHM as a way to remember
our true source or meaning of life?
During the initiation you have an experience of remembrance
and through that you connect to why you are here. Top
17. Does SKHM bring memories from
past lives or childhood?
SKHM helps unblock energy. The energy that is blocked usually
comes from traumas from past lives and from childhood. So SKHM
can help open that up and clear those and blockages and can
bring back memories. Top
18. Do you know of other people having
energy experiences inside the pyramid, for example anyone famous?
I know that Napoleon had a profound experience within the pyramid.
They also say that Alexander the Great had an experience there.
There are even rumours that Christ may have been there. In this
century, people apart from myself have also had wonderful experiences
in the pyramid. It is a very powerful structure on the planet.
But in some ways I see it more as a pilgrimage. I know that
for myself, it was something that I had always wanted to do.
So there was a lot of energy focussed around that event and
that experience. It was something that I knew would help shift
my energy and help me remember why I was here. Top
19. Would you say that the pyramid
is a catalyst for energy experiences like some Indians or Egyptians
report?
Many people go to the pyramid and don’t experience anything
at all. Just think of all the tourists that go there. So it
is a combination of the 2, the physical place and the pilgrimage,
but the more important thing is the energy built up around the
fact that you are going there to do a pilgrimage. If you don’t
have that, then it is unlikely that you would experience anything.
Otherwise we would have tourists walking out of the pyramid
blissed out. Top
20. Would you like to explain a little
bit about your own experience in the pyramid and how it changed
you? Can you give us more information about how it happened?
The main thing that I got out of my experience was a very deep
connection with the heart. And that it was really all inside
me to begin with. That is what I got out of the pyramid.
My actual experience is on the web site www.skhm.org and is
also explained in the new book, Energy Works! Initiation without
a Master. The following extract is from that book. Copyright

Patrick had longed to spend the night in the Great Pyramid
since childhood. When he finally visited it in 1980, he was
overjoyed to find a small opening to the left of the King’s
Chamber. There was a narrow tunnel where thieves had tried to
break through the wall, and he discovered that the gate closing
the entrance was not locked. It was the perfect place to hide.
He left the Pyramid, started fasting, and returned the next
day with his rucksack. When no one was looking, he crawled into
the tunnel and found a small room just above the King’s
Chamber, where he meditated until everyone had left the Pyramid
at night. He then made his way back to the King’s Chamber
and lay down in the sarcophagus.
He soon realised that the chamber was full of mosquitoes. Therefore,
having brought a toilet roll in his rucksack, he wrapped himself
in it, got back in the sarcophagus and lay there looking just
like a mummy.
After meditating for a while, he heard a thumping sound like
footsteps coming up from the gallery below. He lay still, thinking
he would be discovered, yet no one appeared, and he suddenly
realised that the sound was not human. He was terrified.
The sound entered the room, pulsating throughout the Chamber,
and a swirling pattern of electric blue light appeared, hovering
above him. A part of him knew that this was why he had come.
He thought, ‘Do what you have to do,’ and at that
moment, the brilliant blue light came down into his heart. For
a moment, there was a total silence, and he wondered if he was
still alive. Then his heart seemed to expand as the sound filled
it and merged with the sound of his heartbeat. The light swirled
through his heart and body in a figure-of-eight or infinity
pattern. He lay there peacefully all night filled with energy
and an immense feeling of joy and love.
The next morning, he returned to his hiding place, and meditated
a while before coming out to join a group of tourists leaving
the Pyramid. The guards started shouting at him to stop, but,
ignoring them, he jumped on a bus that took him back to his
hotel. Copyright ©2005 O Books Top
21. What do you think will happen
with the SKHM system in one hundred years, do you think it will
expand as broadly as Reiki?
I feel that we have created a wonderful foundation. I think
that in 100 years, most of these systems are not going to be
labelled separately. In 100 years people will see them all as
just one and there won’t be the different labels. I feel
that in 100 years, anyone who knows anything about Reiki will
also know about SKHM. Top
22. Do the Egyptians of today still
use Seichim or SKHM, or has it been lost in the Egypt of today?
Most of the Egyptian practices had to go underground. They
are not really practised the way that they were back then. The
Egyptians worked much more from a place of power rather than
love. We don’t work in that way. A lot of people have
tried to resurrect some of the Egyptian ways of working with
the energy and said that this is the authentic way that the
Egyptians used it. I have found that most of the time they have
actually changed it considerably. So it isn’t really being
practiced nowadays. Top
23. What contribution has SKHM made
to your own life? How do you practice it yourself?
I have actually become much more relaxed. Things are less structured
for me. I do the best that I can to incorporate SKHM into everyday
aspects of my life. Whether I am just walking down the road,
or going to the grocery store or taking care of the kids I don’t
see it as something separate from my life. In a lot of meditation
practices you separate yourself from your daily routine. You
meditate for 15 minutes or an hour a day, and set aside that
time. I have got more and more into just integrating it into
my daily affairs. A good example is just walking down the road;
as you are walking you can work with the infinity symbol, you
can feel your heart radiating, feel love, feel the connection
with Earth and with Heaven. You cultivate that feeling of love
in your heart every day. It is something continual. Top
24. What does SKHM mean and how is it related
with the Sekhem–Seichim Reiki that Diane Shewmaker teaches?
The simplest explanation for the meaning of SKHM is power of
powers, meaning spiritual power, spiritual connection, spiritual
oneness. It has also been known as a place almost like heaven,
a place where gods were born. So in terms of our present day
language, it is when you experience universal consciousness.
Diane developed the Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki class based on her
experience of Reiki the many the classes that she had taken
with me. It is much more a Reiki based approach, using symbols
and the same template as Reiki. In SKHM, we have moved away
from that approach. What we work with is much more spontaneous,
much more intuitive and it is not connected to an ancient Egyptian
ritual of some sort. People should understand that in SKHM,
they are not getting in to a ritual based system, it is much
more an experiential system. Top
25. Is there any distant healing in
SKHM or distant attunements?
The meditation can be done at a distance and people can have
an initiation during that process. Some people just go to the
web site and look at the shenu and get an initiation from that.
It can happen in many different forms distantly. The distant
healing is more focussed on the person doing their own healing
and making their own connection to the energy rather than anyone
doing it for them. Top
26. Do you see a difference between
attunements and re-attunements?
We don’t really work with the Reiki template. We are
looking at initiation experiences and you can have as many initiation
experiences as you like. But even after one initiation, it can
awaken an awareness of love or oneness with the Universe that
stays with you for the rest of your life. Top
27. Can you explain a little bit about
the meditation with the lotus in SKHM?
The lotus flower represents opening, so we focus on the flower
opening up to receive, because receiving is one of the most
important aspects; being able to receive love, to receive the
light. If you can’t receive, then it is very difficult
to have an initiation. Top
28. Are there any connections between
Sufism and SKHM?
The Sufi group that I met in Egypt immediately after the experience
in the pyramid had a very powerful influence on me. The infinity
dance was modelled after one of the dances that they did. Top
29. Antonio particularly likes the
Sa Sekhem Sahu mantra, are there are any mantras in the SKHM
system, can you explain a little bit about them?
The main mantra that I use is the All Love and staying in the
heart. The most important thing is to be in the heart. When
you say a mantra you have to feel the experience whilst you
are saying it. So when you say All Love, you have to really
feel the love in your heart. Top
30. I heard that you include enlightenment
activations in the workshop. Can you explain them?
These are inspired by my 21 day meditation retreat that I had
in India almost a year ago. They help you to connect to the
enlightened experience. They work side by side with the SKHM
meditations and initiations that are experienced. The enlightenment
activation will start a process towards the focus of enlightenment.
They activate the process of enlightenment to unfold within
you. They will help calm the mind, keep you in a more peaceful
state and be more in the present. Top
31. Is there anything else you want
to add about yourself or the system?
The class is something that needs to be experienced. It is
very difficult to understand by simply reading about it, or
by hearing someone else’s experience of it. To fully understand
SKHM you have to experience it. That means not only coming to
class, but participating fully. For those that do participate
fully, they will usually have an experience deeper than they
have ever had in their life. Or they will learn how to bring
up those profound spiritual experiences that they have had in
their life more often.
If you would like to read more about SKHM there is a new book
coming out at the end of February2006.

Foreword by Patrick Zeigler
We hope to have copies of the book available at the conference
and the workshop, but you can also buy the book from www.amazon.co.uk
and www.johnhunt-publishing.com
Graham and Teresa have explored the world of SKHM
to a depth that few have been able to achieve, and, most importantly,
they have been able to share their experience with others through
their words in the most beautiful way. Those who read about
their experience will be initiated in a journey of the heart.
I highly recommend allowing yourself to experience that journey.
